Certified Lead Based Paint training provider.
Classes are generally held in the basement of Farmers Savings Bank and Trust (west door), 401 B Ave. Vinton. We run from 8:00am till 5:00pm on a daily basis with an hour lunch break.

Inspector/Risk Assessor Certification: Lead inspector certification requires you to; (1) complete the Sampling Tech 20hr class as well as the Inspector 20hr class; (2) pass a third party test at a Community College; (3) complete a training course on a Lead Paint Analyzer instrument (generally given by the manufacturer of whichever gun you will be purchasing). If you are not in the immediate market for a gun, the Iowa Department of Public Health presents such training; (4) Pass a background check; (5) pay your fee and apply to the IDPH. (6) Must meet education /experience requirments; A bachelor's degree and one year related experience (lead, environmental health,public health,housing inspection, building trades; B associate's degree and two years experience; C high school diploma and three years experience; D certification as an industrial hygienist, professional engineer, architect, sanitarian, environmental health specialist, or registered nurse; E have a master's degree or Ph.D.
Worker/Contractor Certification: Workers and Contractors will need to pass the course, pass a background check by the state and send in your application with fee to the IDPH. Contractors will also have to pass a 3rd party test at a Community College.
Who needs the Lead Safe Renovator?
If you are simply remodeling in homes built prior to 1978, you need this 8 hour course. If you are doing lead control work, you need the worker/contractor certification. Intent is the difference.
